Autoportraits

This work stands as a complete rupture within my practice. Until now, my work has developed along one or two recognizable lines, but this piece exists entirely apart from them. It has no real continuity with the rest of my production, and I do not expect to pursue anything similar in the future. Because of that, I consider it the greatest risk I have taken in my work. But if I put aside, for a moment, the question of artistic continuity, I can say something much simpler: I am very glad that I made it.
